1970-01-30 - The Warehouse

This is about 30 seconds long. Would go nuts if I could find the whole thing. This particular version seems to be a bit louder and more distorted than any other version I have of this tune.

Anyone recommend a nice, gritty, loud rock version of this tune that isn't faded out after 30 seconds?

Also, pretty sweet Other One on that same set. Should totally check it out.

Oh hell yeah, 3/1/69 is hardcore, from that heavy "Revolution" style raveup that begins the song it just kicks ass throughout.

Another one I was thinking of is maybe 1/17/69? It's one where Bobby tries to start the vocal but there must have been a mic issue as they just sortof jam on the song for a couple of minutes. Reminds me of the Samson from the Feb '78 Dick's Pick where Bobby's mic doesn't work so they jam out the intro for like 5 minutes. This Cosmic Charlie is sortof a similar example where they take a creative way of jamming out to salvage a song that was turning into a trainwreck.

I always really thought the 5/2/70 version was really good. Few are on par with the style of 3/1/69, but there's a lot out there that I haven't heard or heard enough of to really remember anything else that stands out.

If your not familiar with the 3/1/69 version you might enjoy it,it's a bit sloppy though.

the opening is very powerful, but as it goes on, it is a bit sloppy. different than any version i've ever heard, that's for sure.

Phil seems to have fun. Pig maintains. Rainbow colors blendin'. Not bad at all.

yep! 3-1-69 is immediately what came to my mind. I like the mellow 76 ones better myself but either way LOVE the tune. One of my top picks for tunes I wish they hadnt dropped
